Irma Linda Hersel is the creative voice behind Where Nopalitos Grow and Where Chocolate Grows—bilingual children’s stories that celebrate culture, family, and curiosity.
Inspired by her Midwestern upbringing in Michigan and her visits to Mexico, Irma weaves heartfelt stories that reflect the beauty of tradition, connection, and imagination. Now based in Camarillo, California, she shares her home with her husband and their two cats, Stripey and Blue, who often keep her company while she writes.
Irma believes stories have the power to inspire, educate, and help children see themselves reflected in the world around them. Through her books, she invites young readers to dream boldly, explore where things come from, and celebrate their heritage.
She is currently expanding her storytelling world with new bilingual projects, including *Roberto’s Garden Adventures*, a STEM-inspired activity book designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning.
